Bengaluru, November 30, 2025: The second cohort of the DGCA-recognised Drone Pilot Certificate programme successfully concluded, empowering women police officers from Karnataka with specialised training in safe and lawful drone operations.
The initiative was conducted in association with FICCI FLO and Soroptimist International Bangalore, under the guidance of Bharti Maheshwari. The seven-day intensive training was delivered by Neosky, equipping officers with both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in drone deployment.

Participants received hands-on training in real-time surveillance, traffic and crowd monitoring, search and rescue operations, disaster response, VIP security, and aerial evidence recording. The curriculum also covered critical aspects such as airspace regulations, emergency protocols, and risk management to ensure safe, responsible, and compliant drone usage.

The certification and valedictory ceremony was held on November 30, 2025. Certificates were distributed by SIB President Sudha Manandi and Dr. Rumi Sikdar (PAC), marking a significant milestone in enhancing technological capabilities within the police force.
The programme aims to build internal Drone Response Teams within the department, reducing reliance on external agencies while strengthening operational efficiency. It also opens pathways for advanced roles such as drone instructor, payload operator, and forensic drone imaging specialist—creating new opportunities for women in police technology and operations.
The initiative reflects a growing commitment to integrating emerging technologies into law enforcement while advancing women’s participation in specialized and leadership roles.
