Bengaluru, June 23: The city’s cultural landscape was illuminated on a dark, dusky evening as acclaimed dancer Rukmini Vijaykumar and her troupe delivered a powerful performance that left audiences enthralled. Organized by SIB, ‘The Goddess’ featured the Radha Kalpa production troupe in a Bharatanatyam showcase at the Prestige Centre for Performing Arts (PCPA).

The nearly 1,000-seat auditorium was filled to capacity, with spectators traveling from across Bengaluru’s suburbs to witness the much-anticipated performance. The evening unfolded as a vibrant celebration of divine feminine energy, with evocative portrayals of Kali, Durga, and Devi.

Through intricate choreography, expressive storytelling, and commanding stage presence, Vijaykumar and her ensemble brought mythological narratives to life. The performance resonated deeply with the audience, blending spiritual intensity with artistic precision.

“This was a mesmerizing evening,” said an 80-year-old attendee, her face glowing with joy. “I loved the emotional experience of dancing with Rukmini Vijaykumar in my heart.”

The event also garnered significant media attention, receiving coverage from several television channels and the Bangalore Mirror. Beyond its artistic success, the evening amplified SIB’s broader message of women’s empowerment and education, reinforcing the transformative role of art in social advocacy.

‘The Goddess’ stood not only as a cultural spectacle but also as a testament to the enduring power of classical dance in contemporary society.
