International Women’s Day Celebration

On March 16, Rangasthala at M G Road came alive for the evening. President Mamta Ghosh

opened the evening with a talk on the inspiring roles of women. Warm sisterhood and

solidarity was celebrated.

Eight outstanding women received the Soroptimist International of Bangalore’s special

recognition awards for ‘Woman Inspiring Action and Transforming Lives’. Solar lamps were

distributed to eleven slum-dwellers to light up their lives. Many women spoke about their

evolution through various goalposts. It was staged by ‘Theatre for Change’, headed by

Sujatha Balakrishnan.

Dr.Tejaswini Anantkumar was the chief guest and Dr.Sanjay Shantaram was the Guest of

honour. They gave away the awards.
