Activity books and Awareness drive

It was a month to celebrate and give a leg-up to children. Three important days included this month were:

14th: Children’s Day in India

19th: World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse

20th: International Children’s Day.

All the celebrations were combined and conducted on the 20th.

SIB looked in at five village schools at Kanakapura Road to undertake the following activities at a cost of about Rs 28,000:

• Distributed activity books, colour pencils, sweets and masks to 800 children and staff

• Gave awareness talks on the prevention of child sexual abuse, child trafficking and road safety

• Spoke about Covid-19 safety measures, including the wearing of masks and personal cleanliness

The activity ended with an intimate exchange of views and opinions between the SIB members as well as the staff.
